Press Release
Conyers/Georgia, March 16th - HAVER FILLING SYSTEMS, INC. is breaking ground for expanding their facility in a plan to adding local manufacturing.

HAVER FILLING SYSTEMS, INC. has grown steadily since its establishment more than thirty years ago. We are happy to announce that in order to accommodate our rate of expansion and make room for future growth we have decided to expand our facility by more than doubling the already existing building in Conyers, GA - 25 miles East outside of Atlanta.
At the same time, the construction of the new facility represents a mile stone in the Haver history and is a declaration of faith in the U.S. market and the State of Georgia as an industrial location.
The new plant will be build next to the already existing 10,000 sq ft. building by adding another 8,000 sq ft. office- and 8,000 sq ft. warehouse space.
The beginning of the construction phase is expected to start End of April and should be completed by Middle of November 2009.
The new facility is designed to open up a production/assembly process and will create a framework for manufacturing the machine type “INTEGRA” initially. The future goal is to steady add other machine types to the manufacturing process and to convert to local production.
HAVER FILLING SYSTEMS, INC. is a subsidiary of the Machinery Division HAVER & BOECKER, a worldwide leading manufacturer of high-quality packing equipment for valve bag and open-mouth technology as well as FFS technology for dry bulk solids. The company was established in the Americas in Harrison/New York in 1977. To expand operations, HAVER FILLING SYSTEMS, INC. moved in 1989 to its own building with 4,000 square feet of office space and 6,000 square of stock area in Conyers, Georgia, only 30 miles from Atlanta.
The German based, family owned company Haver & Boecker started its business in 1925 with the manufacturing of packing machines for the cement industry and is been known as trendsetting when it comes to innovative packing technology.
The announcement is an important element of the company's overall U.S. strategy of connecting with its customers and increasing its competitiveness. It will create opportunities, which will benefit the local economy for years to come.
Haver & Boecker now a UL-certified control cabinet builder
Today 140 control cabinet manufacturers in Germany are authorised to approve control cabinets built according to the UL standard. Since August 2008 Haver & Boecker has been among them. This makes the German packaging specialist one of the approximately 4,000 companies worldwide that can now fulfil this demanding American standard. This is yet another big success for the family-owned company located in Oelde, Germany, and it will save its North American and Canadian customers a lot of money when it comes to documentation and acceptance testing. For Haver & Boecker this represents a big step in eliminating bureaucratic red tape.
In mid July at Haver headquarters in Oelde, an exemplary final acceptance of control cabinets was conducted by Tim Fitzjarrald of the Underwriters Laboratories (UL) testing and certification office in the USA. Switch cabinets for the INTEGRA, ROTO-PACKER, external control systems and RADIMAT were tested. Haver employees learned about the requirements of the UL 508A standards for industrial control cabinets in various training sessions and seminars. This knowledge is essential for building UL-conforming control cabinets for the North American markets, or to have them built externally and then later apply the UL label.
The UL label confirms that the legally applicable regulations in the USA and Canada are fully complied to. This simplifies the work of the local inspectors (Authorities Having Jurisdiction – AHJ) whenever putting equipment into operation in North America and minimises the risk of a shut-down of a new machine or an entire line, thus reducing rework and additional deliveries.
Already at the end of July, 20 control cabinets of an open order could be outfitted with the first UL labels from the USA.

Haver & Boecker together with its subsidiary companies Behn + Bates and Feige present their versatility and innovation at the INTERPACK
Haver & Boecker delivers the key to successful filling
Together with its subsidiary companies Behn + Bates and Feige Filling, Haver is presenting a cross-section of its growing versatility at this year’s INTERPACK exhibition. On a joint stand in Hall 12, Stand 12 D08/E07 the members of the HAVER TECHNOLOGY GROUP will be showing the key to filling success for (almost) every application.
THE ADAMS® and THE BENJAMIN®, the filling systems for packing powder-type products into air-tight PE bags made from a tubular film roll, are increasingly taking the market. The advantages that these Haver & Boecker designed HAP® (Haver Adams Process®) systems, which use the Form-Fill-Seal principle, have to offer are the long-sought customer wishes of more product protection, greater transport stability and longer shelf lives. The PE bags in which premium quality building chemicals, dry mortar and cement are packed into also provide for a perfect appearance. Compact sizes and high flexibility are the distinguishing features of these machines. Depending on the production outputs and the level of compaction to be reached by the fine-powder products, THE BENJAMIN® may be equipped with 1 to 4 filling modules, and THE ADAMS® with 8 or 10 spouts.
THE CYRUS, based on THE ADAMS® and THE BENJAMIN®, is the newest innovative FFS model of the Haver & Boecker product line and will be displayed to the public for the first at the INTERPACK. THE CYRUS is a new development for powder-type, loose materials with particle sizes ranging from 20 to 300 μ (e.g. products of the chemicals and food sectors) and for coarse products with dust content (e. g. sugar, salt and flakes), and thus can be the key to filling success. Frequent product changeovers with required cleaning are no problem for the HAVER-CYRUS. THE CYRUS is designed for bag sizes ranging form 6 dm3 to 50 dm3 and weights between 5 and 50 kg. Economy, flexibility and cleanliness are the distinguishing hallmarks of this system. It has a completely enclosed product path (dust-tight filling spouts) and speeds of up to 1500 bags/hour. THE CYRUS opens up for its customers a whole new range of possibilities, which up to now have not been possible with the conventional FFS systems, or only for valve bags.
Compactness, user friendliness and reliability are the features that characterise the proven HAVER-INTEGRA® system for valve bags. This fully automatic compact system includes an automatic bag applicator, a filling system, valve sealing unit, control unit, operator’s terminal and a discharge belt - all optimally placed inside a dust-free housing. This system is delivered ready for production. It uses the Plug+Pack concept and can be set up and put into operation at the customer’s location in little time. It fills all bulk materials with speeds of up to 700 bags/hr. with 1, 2 or 3 filling spouts.
HAVER subsidiary Behn + Bates, which this year can be proud of its 75th anniversary as an expert in packing food and feed products, is now offering its customers two new products. One is the ORBIS open-bag system, and the other is the proven turbine packing system with improved design and integrated metal detector.

THE CYRUS is the name of the newest FFS model of the Haver & Boecker product range. It is suitable for the filling of powder-type, loose bulk materials with a particle size ranging from 20 to 300 µ as well as coarse products with dust content.

HAVER 2006 Innovation Award presented to Laticrete
International.
Support in introducing seminal technology
is recognised
Conyers/Chicago. This year’s HAVER 2006 Innovation
Award has been presented to the company Laticrete International.
Haver & Boecker, based in Oelde Germany, officially
recognises the company’s co-operation in the mutual
development of clean packaging, protecting the product and
increasing shelf life, for the building materials industry.
Laticrete International will install the newly developed
4-spout BENJAMIN machines at several locations in various
US states by the middle of May. The packing machines operate
according to the HAVER ADAMS PROCESS, a machine technology
that allows powder-type products to be filled into leak-proof
plastic bags.
Laticrete International, located in Bethany Connecticut,
is a well-known and innovative producer of building materials.
Founded in 1956, the company has developed a wide range
of products for the building materials industry. Even beyond
professional circles Laticrete became well known through
its development of a thin layer mortar in the late 1950s,
which due to its lightweight made it possible to build high-rises
during the US Eisenhower era. This remarkable innovation,
which at the time was not held in the highest regards, secured
the company’s future and became the secret of its
success. And with the introduction of the HAP techno¬logy,
Laticrete continues on this path to success.
The Award, a sculpture by native artist Paul
Tönnißen and a monetary bonus were awarded at
the end of October in Chicago at the PACK EXPO, one of the
most important US trade exhibitions for packaging technology.
Dr. Will Martinez received the award and certificate for
Laticrete International from Dr. Reinhold Festge, Managing
Director and Partner, of HAVER & BOECKER.

Haver Filling Systems Inc. – A member of the
Haver Technology Group – The Solution Provider –
at the Pack Expo, Chicago 2006, Booth 7240 at Lakside Center
Conyers, Georgia, October 16, 2006 –
„THE BENJAMIN“ - the name of the newly developed
FFS system from Haver & Boecker will be introduced to
the industry for the very first time at the Pack Expo in
Chicago at Lakeside Center, Level 3, Booth 7240. Effective
product protection is one of the elementary and essential
requirements of packaging. Increasing market demand led
Haver & Boecker to develop a system for filling powdery
products into state-of- the-art PE bags at high output rates.
Plastic bags provide the significant advantage of improved
product protection and vastly prolonged shelf life. The
quality of the smooth bag surface provides the preconditions
for high quality, sophisticated print jobs. This innovative
development will further enhance Haver & Boecker’s
capabilities to answer the global call for advanced packaging
technology.
Feige Filling Technology USA – A member
of the HAVER Technology Group presents latest innovation
in drum filling:
New drum filler ready for use in production, a cost-effective
approach to modern filling technology
The latest development, the drum filler type 32 “Plug
& Fill”, can immediately be put into operation
after installation and after power supply has been put on.
For the first time, Feige engineers succeeded in packing
electric and pneumatic control in one common control cabinet.
Thus, cable conduits and cable laying can
be spared during installation. Everything is ready mounted
for production and checked for hazardous area application
as per ATEX guidelines.

Haver & Boecker – The Solution Provider
– at the ACHEMA 2006
„THE ADAMS“ and „THE BENJAMIN“
are the names of the new developments in FFS technology
from Haver & Boecker. The benefits of these innovations
promise the customer an advantage with novel character.
These systems, based on modified modules of the FFS-technology
fill powdery products into plastic bags; protecting the
product from moisture. The advantage for the customer is
first of all that plastic tubular film PE bags can there
be used where before due to technical requirements only
paper bags could be used. By using plastic tubular film
PE bags there are a lot of advantages like increased product
protection and vastly prolonged shelf life. Additionally
the quality of the bag surface permits excellent printing.
The impact of the bag is many times better than one made
from paper.
Whereas “THE ADAMS” is a rotating
high performance system,“THE BENJAMIN I” and
“THE BENJAMIN II” are sequential stationary
systems for medium capacities. The compacting properties
of the product have a crucial effect on performance. After
having proved the first 8-spout machines of “THE ADAMS”
with a capacity of 1,200 bags per hour in continuous operation,
the first 10-spout machines are now going into operation.
These machines can also achieve a capacity of 1,200 bags
per hour for fine pure cements.
Other newly developed systems are the bag
placers RADIMAT 3000 and RADIMAT 5000. The new models with
a capacity of 3,000 and 5,000 bags per hour have less mechanical
parts, are more maintenance-friendly and require less space.
We estimate a saving in overheads of at least 20% for the
customer.
At the ACHEMA 2006 in Frankfort, the Engineering
Division of Haver & Boecker is presenting the latest
version of the INTEGRA for sealed paper valve bags, the
FFS-Delta for PE bags made of tubular film with automatic
reel changer as well as one model of the NIAGARA-Fine-Line
Screen from the range of the HB Processing Technology.
The INTEGRA is a fully automatic filling station
in a common housing which is successfully established on
the market. The customers estimate its quick installation
and commissioning and in the meantime they gave us suggestions
for further developments, such as the continuously operating
vertical empty bag magazine.
The high-performance FFS-Delta with automatic
reel changer makes the reel changing independent from the
operator; increasing the efficiency of the FFS systems by
a maximum production performance Due to the optimized product
dosing, highest performances can be reached even with low
construction height.
We will be in Hall 5.0, Stand no. B 19 –
C 27.

ANUGA Food Tech 2006 Exhibition,
Cologne/ Germany
Efficient food packing by the BEHN+BATES
open-mouth bag packing system TOPLINE. After its first successful
participation in 2003 the company BEHN + BATES, Muenster/Germany,
is proud to join also this year’s Anuga Food Tec.
The packing machine specialist will again present efficient
and modern solutions for the economical food packing into
bags. The Anuga Food Tec 2006 will take place in Cologne/Germany
from April 4-7, 2006.
BEHN + BATES will exhibit its new open-mouth
bag packing system TOPLINE that was introduced successfully
on the international markets last year.
The Topline being a high-modern fully-automatic
packing system has been developed especially for the filling
of free-flowing powdery products into open-mouth bags with
filling weights from 11 to 55 lbs. (5 to 25 kg). Dependant
on the customer needs the Topline can be designed for gross
filling or net filling. Moreover the type and material of
the bag to be filled as well as the type of the bag feed
system and bag closure can be chosen flexibly.
The complete working process - from the filling
up to the closure of the open-mouth bags - is effected within
one compact housing. The integrated system components are
readily wired up to one connection point. Thus this new
concept does not only guarantee a maximum of cleanliness
but also short installation and commissioning times.
The bag transport is effected at the same
height during the complete empty and full bag transport
and therefore leads to a very good bag sealing quality.
For the bag is fixed securely during the whole process the
result are high-grade in quality bags with an optimum bag
filling level which enables an easy palletizing.
BEHN + BATES takes into account the high hygiene
standards in the food processing industry by the following
machine design characteristics:
- The filling spout especially developed for
the filling of food products is equipped with integrated
bag deareation.
- The machine bottom is consistently even for a better cleaning.
- The energy cables are fixed in the upper area of the machine
housing and thus outside the dust
area.
- The large-surface access doors are made of safety glass
and close at the same level as the machine
housing.
- The possible dust deposit spaces are reduced to a minimum.
Moreover the choice of a new densification
system guarantees a compact bag filling.
After the filling the bags are sealed within
the machine. The sealing can be effected by folding, sewing,
sealing, gluing or hot-melt reactivating or a combination
of these sealing types.
