HAVER Truck Bulk Loading Using the HAVER High Performance Model 7480 H Weigher

New application areas have been gained since HAVER & BOECKER’s high performance net weigher was further developed. By implementing the high-performance net weigher into a frame with a telescoping loader, it is now possible to fill free-flowing loose products into tanker trucks with consistent accuracy and at a speed of 90 tons per hour. Its rugged and low-maintenance construction assures long operation times.

High weight-accuracy was achieved through the committed further development of the HAVER MEC® III weighing electronics. Operation and display of all functions take place via an operator terminal with a graphic display. The simple and well-structured operating sequences are menu-guided or take place using function keys with pictogram fields. The plain text information is given in the country’s language. It is also possible to hook up the HAVER- DPS system for recording, evaluating and reporting process data.

The loading telescope can be designed as a stationary or a mobile variant. As a mobile system it is especially suitable for silo farms. The automatic docking unit limits dead times during silo changeovers. The required cleaning that comes with product variety is thus made easier as all containers are equipped with cleaning lids. The protective fixtures are fundamentally designed as safety doors.

Also the filling of FIBCs and Octabins underneath the telescope is possible. Optional extras include electric lifting and lowering of the loading telescope, automatic removal of the bottom cover in the filling position, pneumatic docking unit for connecting to customer silos and exact positioning using laser technology. Automatic water cleaning of the product path is also available as an option.

Form Fill Seal (FFS) Bagging Innovation

HAVER FFS-SYSTEM "THE CYRUS", based on THE ADAMS® and THE BENJAMIN®, is the newest innovative FFS model of the Haver & Boecker product line and will be displayed to the public for the first at the INTERPACK. THE CYRUS is a new development for powder-type, loose materials with particle sizes ranging from 20 to 300 μ (e.g. products of the chemicals and food sectors) and for coarse products with dust content (e. g. sugar, salt and flakes), and thus can be the key to filling success. Frequent product changeovers with required cleaning are no problem for the HAVER-CYRUS. THE CYRUS is designed for bag sizes ranging from 6 dm3 to 50 dm3 and weights between 5 and 50 kg. Economy, flexibility and cleanliness are the distinguishing hallmarks of this system. It has a completely enclosed product path (dust-tight filling spouts) and speeds of up to 1500 bags/hour. THE CYRUS opens up for its customers a whole new range of possibilities, which up to now have not been possible with the conventional FFS systems, or only for valve bags.

"THE BENJAMIN" - the name of the newly developed FFS system from Haver & Boecker. This new innovation, based on industry proven technology from HAVER's FFS-Systems, fills powdery products into plastic bags; protecting the product and increasing shelf life. Effective product protection is one of the elementary and essential requirements of packaging. Increasing market demand led Haver & Boecker to develop a system for filling powdery products into state-of- the-art PE bags at high output rates. Plastic bags provide the significant advantage of improved product protection and vastly prolonged shelf life. The quality of the smooth bag surface provides the preconditions for high quality, sophisticated print jobs. This innovative development will further enhance Haver & Boecker's capabilities to answer the global call for advanced packaging technology.

The Technology Know-How

The technology is based on the HAP – HAVER ADAMS PROCESS, a combination of decades of experience with FFS technology and bagging of fine, dusty products. "The BENJAMIN" is an internally rotating filling unit with 1 up to 4 filling spouts. This system is designed for filling of dry building materials, such as tile grout, tile adhesive and stone adhesive etc. The design output rate of this machine ranges up to 1,200 bags per hour, taking product characteristics into account. The FFS machine type "The ADAMS", an externally rotating design is based on the same concept. This machine has 8 or 10 filling spouts and has been designed for bagging of high blaine cement as well as well as other ultra-fine products with output rates of up to 1,200 bags/h. Both machine types guarantee a high level of product compaction, which assures optimized use of storage and freight space and simultaneously maximum pallet stability.

Integrated corner welding enhances the block shape of filled bags, resulting in attractive pallet stacking, ideal for subsequent logistic handling.

Both developments have been introduced very successful in European industry.

Haver Filling Systems Conyers, Georgia, the North American arm of HAVER & BOECKER, provides trained technical service teams, responsible for local service 24/7 in the USA, Canada and Mexico. In order to assure maximum up time of these machines, preventive maintenance- and training programs are in place.

Other newly developed systems are the bag placers RADIMAT 3000 and RADIMAT 5000. The new models with a capacity of 3,000 and 5,000 bags per hour have less mechanical parts, are more maintenance-friendly and require less space. We estimate a saving in overheads of at least 20% for the customer.

The high-performance FFS-Delta with automatic reel changer makes the reel changing independent from the operator; increasing the efficiency of the FFS systems by a maximum production performance. Due to the optimized product dosing, highest performances can be reached even with low construction height.
